Influences of high and pop-culture, philosophy and politics, punk and luxury, fine-art and activism are the key to Jonathan Johnson’s work.
By merging contradicting elements and subjects, Jonathan Johnson raises his craftsmanship and the appropriate obsession for detail to a contemporary state-of-the-art level.
With much pleasure for tongue-in-cheek provocation, Jonathan Johnson creates unique works of art, fueled by a concept- driven alloy that is not defined by color or surface but by interdisciplinary content. Jonathan Johnson’s attitude and method transform each piece of work into a personal, political and artistic statement.
Jonathan Johnson exclusively uses recyclable material (sterling silver and gold) from a german refining establishment. He buys his tools from local tool makers, relies completely on green electricity and he designs and produces all his works in his studio in Hamburg, Germany.
In the heart of Hamburg, between Reeperbahn and Jungfernstieg, the headquarter of our factory is located in an old mid-century house. Here, state-of-the-art machines merge with the know-how of centuries-old manufacturing techniques. Our philosophy is to unite everything under one roof, from the design to the finish. With our own foundry and electroplating, we have managed to build up a workshop that allows us to work largely autonomously. We focus on an environmentally friendly production where we produce exclusively with recycled silver and gold alloys, which we obtain from a factory in Germany. Each of our jewelery is handmade by our team in Hamburg and shipped all over the world.
