Our contribution to the election · 2025

Dear fellow citizens,

we are writing to you today, just under two weeks before the federal election, and would like to start with a quote:

“All the pale horses of the apocalypse have stormed through my life: revolution and famine, currency devaluation and terror, epidemics and emigration. I have seen the great mass ideologies grow and spread before my eyes: Fascism in Italy, National Socialism in Germany, Bolshevism in Russia, and above all that primal plague, nationalism, which poisoned the flower of our European culture.”

– The World of Yesterday: Memories of a European by Stefan Zweig, 1942.

We recommend that if you haven't read this book yet, you do so – it's worth it. Those who know Jonathan Johnson know that from the beginning of our work, we have advocated for human dignity. That's why we have once again created a small collection to strengthen your resolve and bring a smile to your face these days. Because what these hateful fascists do not possess is humor. Our humor, our joy of life, our kindness, our willingness to share, not to abandon people in need, and to recognize and support people who deviate from the heterosexual majority society – that is the future! Believing in science that enables cross-border collaboration on solutions for combating climate change – that is true progress! If the richest help the poor so that everyone can lead a dignified life, that would be a real flight to Mars. That would be the most beautiful SVU we can imagine.

We thank all the people who take to the streets and demonstrate against the shift to the right.

Sincerely,
Your Johnsons
